Friday Note 2/9/18
- Math— We continued working with addition stories.
- Language Workshop—We started our unit on Poetry.
- Writing Workshop—We worked on expanding our writing. We are working on writing more than one sentence on the same topic.
- Reading Workshop— I am meeting with small groups to focus on specific reading skills and strategies.
- Word Study—We continued segmenting and blending phoneme sounds this week. We learned to pronounce the beginning, middle and ending of words and then blend them back together.
- Important Dates:
- Feb. 15: Jump Rope for Heart form and money due
- Feb. 19: No School (Presidents Day)
- Feb. 22: Jump Rope for Heart (during our P.E. time)
- Feb. 26-March 2: Dr. Seuss Week (more details to follow)

Thank you to all the parents who helped with the Valentine party. The students always have such a good time.
Next Week:
- We will begin a unit Nursery Rhymes.
- In math, we will start subtraction.
- Our sight word will be “in”.
- We will begin building CVC words focusing on short a and short i sounds.
- We will continue expanding one sentence into 2 or 3 sentences on the same topic.
