Friday Note 3-29-18

Thursday Note - 3/29/18

NO SCHOOL TOMORROW!

Events of the Week: Our theme was plants. Despite the wet weather, the kids really enjoyed the egg hunt. We found out the Mrs. Crim’s 3rd grade class won the penny war.  Thank you for helping raise more than $1,300 for our school!
Math: We continued to practice addition and subtraction within 10.  Your child should be able to complete a number sentence without assistance at this point.  If there are blank problems left on the page that is for your child to complete at home.  These pages do not need returned unless there is a note attached. We completed an assessment over fluently adding within 5. These will be sent home next week.

Language Workshop: We read different books about plants and talked about what plants need to grow. We also discussed the parts of a plant.

Writing Workshop: We wrote sentences about plants. We wrote about the parts of a plant and what they need to grow.  We are working on adding details to our writing. Our sentence writing is getting better every day!  Continue to practice writing sentences at home.
Word Study: Our sight word was “was”.  We also worked with –en, -et, and –eg word families.  We are learning to make new words by changing the beginning sound.
