FRIDAY NOTE (10/03/14)
Events
of the Week: It’s hard to believe, but October is here! Our
focus this week was on color review. We
focused on the book Brown Bear, Brown Bear. We read and practiced retelling this story
using our story wheels. We also made our
own “Brown Bear Reader” to add to our Independent Reading Boxes. We did several color mixing activities this
week. Our sight word was “see”. It popped up a lot as we were reading books
this week! Our letters for the week were “Ff” and “Dd”. Don’t forget to practice letter and sound
identification at home with your child. In
math, we started a new math topic over numbers 1-5. Please practice writing these numbers with
your child at home.

birthday and phone number. If your child
has already scored “Proficient” in an area, he/she will not be assessed over

begin changing into costumes at 11:30. Parents are welcome to help at
that time. Parents may also start setting up for the party at this
time. At 11:45 we will parade through the school in our costumes.
The party will begin after the parade, at approximately 12:00 and last until
12:30. Please remember to send your child’s costume to school
that morning! Do not bring it with you—you never know when you
might be delayed unexpectedly.
**Your child may opt out of lunch that day if you
would like since we are having a snack at the party.
*Special
note about costumes—NO weapons of any kind allowed, please keep blood and
gore to a minimum!
